Concept: Flickr Photo Selector

Since I’ll be adding copious numbers of photos to my blog, I need a plugin that will make the process faster. At present, I’m planning a plugin to select the images I want to display. If anyone reading this knows of a plugin that does this already, leave a comment with the name and save me some coding time, please!

This plugin will require a set up to authorize the blog to pull information from Flickr. Other set up options include numbers of photos per page, dimensions of the thumbnails and how many images to display per row.

Once set up, add images to posts by clicking an icon above the text editor. This will bring up a box which displays all Flickr photo sets in your account.

You’ll then select a set, and the window will refresh to display all the photos in that set. Clicking on a photo will add it to an available slot, or you can select “random” to pull the prespecified number of photos randomly. Photos can be rearranged by number (dragging capabilities would be nice eventually, but I’m not too great with JS) or randomly.

When all this is finished, the plugin will put the code directly into the post where it can be edited.

Or that’s the plan, at least.
